Venture Studio Engineering: Building Multiple Products with One Team

Venture studios build 4-6 products per year with shared engineering. Here's the economics.

By Richard Ewing·

The Studio Model

Traditional startup: 1 team, 1 product, $1-3M seed. Venture studio: shared team, 4-6 products/year, $500K-1M per product. Efficiency gain: 2-3x cost reduction per product through shared platform, shared infrastructure, and reusable components.

The trade-off: each product gets less attention. Compensate with: strong platform team (3-4 engineers), product templates and boilerplates, and aggressive 8-week validation cycles.
