Engineering Metrics That Impress VCs: What to Present at Series A

VCs look for velocity, quality, and efficiency signals. Here's exactly what to show.

By Richard Ewing·

The VC Dashboard

Show: Deployment frequency (multiple times/day = elite), Feature velocity (features shipped per sprint, trending up), Quality (customer-facing incidents per month, trending down), Infrastructure efficiency (cost per user, declining with scale), Team leverage (revenue per engineer, increasing).

Don't show: lines of code (meaningless), tech stack buzzwords, or architecture diagrams (nobody cares). Show outcomes, not process.
